Alexander Zverev failed in round one at Wimbledon. He then spoke of “mental problems” and loneliness.

The German tennis Olympic champion Alexander Zverev (28) talked about mental problems after his surprising first round on Wimbledon’s lawn. “I’ve never felt so empty. I just lack the joy of everything I do” ,. But it’s not just about sport.

Alexander Zverev feels “very alone”

As an excuse for his dramatic defeat against the Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech after four hours and 40 minutes, Zverev, who most recently stood on the client of Roland Garros in the quarter-finals of the French Open, does not use his mental problems. “I’ve felt that in the past few months. I feel totally alone and lonely,” added the partner of TV presenter Sophia Thomalla (35). “I don’t know. I’ve never felt like that.”
