British royal family: Kate about cancer: recovery is “roller coaster ride”

When visiting a hospital in the Grafschaft Essex, Princess Kate spoke impressively about the “life -changing” experience of cancer. The way to recovery is a “roller coaster ride,” said 43-year-old daughter-in-law of King Charles III. According to the British news agency PA.

During her visit, the wife of heir to the throne, Prince William (42), planted several roses named after her in rainy weather in the garden of the clinic.

Kate: Not everything okay after treatment

More than a year ago, Kate had made public that cancer had been found after an operation in the abdomen. Then she got chemotherapy that she has now ended. The palace did not announce details on the diagnosis.

After her diagnosis, Kate had temporarily withdrawn from the public, now she has appeared a lot again. In January she announced that she was relieved to be in remission. According to the organization Cancer Research UK, a complete remission would mean that no signs of cancer can be demonstrated after treatment.

After a successful treatment, there is a phase in which everyone – including one – expects it to be okay again. But that is “not the case at all,” said Kate.

King Charles (76) also made public in early 2024 that he was treated for cancer. What kind of cancer it is is not known.
