Charlize Theron raises her two adoptive daughters alone. This decision has to do with her own childhood, as she now tells.
According to her own words, Oscar winner Charlize Theron (“Monster”) is very happy to be a single mother. “I think it’s probably one of the healthiest decisions I have ever made,” said the 49-year-old about her decision to adopt her two daughters as a single woman, in the “Call Her daddy” podcast.
The relationship of her mother with her father, who was an alcoholic, was a deterrent example, Theron said. At that time she also admitted that “I had no ability to be healthy in a relationship”. It quickly says about single mothers “that something doesn’t have to be right with her,” said Theron. But she herself finds it “damn great” to “live exactly as I want to live, to experience motherhood exactly as I wanted”.
According to the US magazine “People”, the native South African has two adoptive daughters who are nine and twelve years. You will respect it if one day the two would look at growing up without a father, explained Theron. For them, motherhood without a partner was the only way. “And my damned God, I love it every single day. I love that I don’t have to share them with anyone. I love that I don’t have to clarify every damned crap with a guy first.”
