Colley died at his home in Kent, England, on Monday after contracting Covid and developing pneumonia. He was 87 years old.

“Ken Colley was one of our best character actors with a career that covered 60 years,” Owens said in the statement.

“Ken continuously worked in theater, cinema and television playing a wide range of characters, from Jesus in the life of Brian of Monty Python to evil and eccentric characters in Ken Russell’s films, and the Duke of Vienna to the extent of Shakespeare for the BBC.”

The BBC reported that Colley had been initially admitted to the hospital with an injured arm after a fall, but quickly contracted Covid, which became pneumonia.

Colley repeated the role of Admiral Piett in the 2012 animated film Lego Star Wars: The Empire hires. Among his other works are included Firefoxof Clint Eastwood; I hired a hired killerof Aki Kaurismäki; and The rainbowof Ken Russell.

Colley’s statement added: “Ken’s favorite role was to play Estragon in the theatrical production of Beckett classic waiting for Godot at the Cockpit Theater in London in 2014”.
