Verona Pooth has always accompanied her son Diego on “Let’s Dance”. Before the show started, she had a tip for him.
Diego Pooth (21) won the 18th season of “Let’s Dance” alongside Ekaterina Leonova (38). Mother Verona Pooth (57) remembered the original request for the popular TV show on July 4th in the “NDR Talk Show” and explained: “Dancing was light years away. Nobody has dance talent in this family.” She told her son that he could make it with the necessary tact. “You won’t have inherited it from me,” she said.
Nevertheless, she was able to give Diego a tip on the way. “If you are smart, don’t fly out in the first round, that would be really stupid. Create the third and at the fifth I celebrate you and now he has won,” she said. Until the “Dancing Star” title, Diego had to prove himself over several weeks. “I have to say I’m very proud of it because it was a very long way,” said his mother.
Diego’s victory is “just incredible”
Already after Diego’s victory at the end of May, Verona Pooth raved about her son. She explained that his victory was “just incredible”. At first she hadn’t believed in it, but with the weeks his performance made her optimistic. “I can’t believe that, what did you both do there?! 15 weeks locked up in the gym and something like that came out!” She praised him and Leonova.
She had cheered the two from the audience at most shows. The TV presenter was of course also there at the final. She was able to follow live on how her son placed in front of Fabian Hambüchen (37) and Taliso Engel (23). Thanks to the telephone voting, Pooth was happy about first place. With 87 out of 90 points, he received the lowest score of the three remaining candidates with 87 out of 90 points.
