After almost 30 years, drummer Matt Cameron stops at the rock band Pearl Jam. As a farewell, there is warm words from both sides – but no information about a possible successor.
After almost 30 years on the drums of Pearl Jam, the musician Matt Cameron (62) leaves the band. Cameron thanked his bandmates for the “chance of his life”, which they gave him in 1998. “It was an incredible time,” continued Cameron.
Cameron, who had also played for the band Soundgarden and was awarded many times, did not share more information about his decision or other plans, but only wrote: “Soon more.”
The remaining band members also thanked Cameron via Instagram. It would be “deeply missing”, it said. There was initially no information about a possible successor from the US band, which has been celebrating successes worldwide since the 1990s.
