In 2024 Heinz Hoenig had to go to the hospital for acute heart problems. Now he is gradually getting better. At an event he talks about what gives him a lot of strength.
Actor Heinz Hoenig, 73, showed himself again at an event after his serious illness. Hoenig came to a reception in Berlin in a black suit with his wife Annika Kärsten-Hoenig.
His wife supported him. Hoenig greeted many journalists visibly pleased. When asked by a reporter, where he gets so much strength from, Hoenig said in a quiet voice: “I have my family that gives me so much strength. And I have strength anyway.” The actor recently said the “Bild” newspaper that he was making good progress and he wanted to make films again.
Heinz Hoenig at Emmy semi-final jury session
Hoenig was taken to a hospital for acute heart problems last year and had occasionally been in the artificial coma. He was then operated on the esophagus. His management started a donation campaign to finance hospital and treatment costs because the actor has no health insurance.
Among other things, Hoenig played in the 80s success “Das Boot” and is also known from television teachers of director Dieter Wedel from the 90s (“The Great Bellheim”, “The Schattenmann”, “The King of St. Pauli”). At the beginning of 2024, he participated in the RTL jungle camp as a candidate. The 73-year-old lives in the Harz with his wife and two small children in Blankenburg (Saxony-Anhalt).
In Berlin, the actor now attended a reception on the occasion of a semi-final jury meeting for the international Emmys. The event is part of the selection process for the worldwide renowned awards. According to his wife, it was the first public appearance after the difficult time last year.
