Prince Andrew can probably travel again after six years: The FBI is said to have ended the investigation into the Epstein connection of the royal.
After around six years of the self -imposed travel ban, Prince Andrew (65) apparently can be abroad again without worry. A supposedly leaked memo that the FBI has hired its investigation into Prince Andrew’s connections to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Since the scandal around Epstein, the second oldest son of Queen Elizabeth II had mostly stayed in the Royal Lodge at Windsor Castle – for fear of possible arrest on trips abroad. “He has only been abroad once since the scandal broke out,” reveals a friend not mentioned by name to “The Sun”. Without continuous investigations by the US authority, this will certainly change, it is said.
From “Air Miles Andy” to the Windsor resident
The prince used to be known as “Air Miles Andy” – because of his excessive and often criticized trips as a trade envoy. Meanwhile, his only trip abroad led him to Bahrain with a private jet in 2022.
“He was always very nervous to go abroad and felt as if he had to look over his shoulder all the time,” explains the friend. “He could be exposed to civil lawsuits or in the worst case of an arrest.”
Andrew had always asserted that he wanted to cooperate with the US authorities and “help every reasonable law enforcement agency”. But a short time after this statement, US prosecutors accused him of “zero cooperation”. The Ministry of Justice even made an official application to the British Ministry of the Interior to speak to Andrew.
The prince continues to deny all the allegations of the now deceased Virginia Giuffre that he had forced her three times for sex three times between 1999 and 2002. In February 2022, both parties agreed in an extrajudicial comparison, the sum of which was not announced.
