Of all things, “Lord of the Rings” magician Gandalf has followed the end of Laura Siegemund’s Wimbledon fairy tale.
Middle-earth meets Wimbledon: At the quarter-final game of the championships between Laura Siegemund (37) and Aryna Sabalenka (27), a magical guest found himself in the audience: Sir Ian McKellen (86), probably to this day most of the people as “the Lord of the Rings” figure Gandalf. The old star pursued the exciting match and looked at the action on the Center Cord again and again through a binoculars brought with them.
McKellen’s presence, however, brought the German luck: In his presence, the Wimbledon fairy tale of Siegemund took an abrupt end. The 37-year-old was even able to win the first set against the world ranking of Belarus, which was ten years younger. In the end, however, she lost 6: 4, 2: 6, 4: 6 and has to say goodbye to the tournament.
When does Princess Kate come?
The prestigious tournament has been running since the end of June, which has been attracting numerous stars from all over the world since then. Already on day one, Princess Beatrice (36) took a seat in the so -called Royal Box, which is reserved for invited guests and members of the royal family or celebrities. This was followed by appearances by Hollywood stars such as Cate Blanchett (56), Russell Crowe (61) or Andrew Garfield (41).
