For the music video for her hit “London Bridge”, Fergie was ridiculed for years because it was filmed on the Tower Bridge. Now the singer has shot a new video – on the right bridge.
US singer Fergie made a new video for her old hit “London Bridge” and corrected an almost 20 year old mistake. The song was originally released in 2006 with a music video that was not filmed on the London Bridge, but on the iconic Tower Bridge. “But this time we did it right,” emphasized Fergie on the occasion of the publication of the new video clip. “We turned on the real (albeit a little more chaotic) London Bridge.”
Tower Bridge and London Bridge are often confused
Occasionally, the Tower Bridge is incorrectly referred to by tourists as London Bridge. The old music video contributed to the misunderstanding. Fergie was frequently mocked because of the confusion in the past. In the new video, the former front woman of Black Eyed Peas takes it with humor.
After walking with actress Megan Stalter for a while over the optically unspectacular London Bridge, the song stops short. “Now you see why we didn’t film here at the time,” says Fergie. “And I had to pay for the last damned 20 years.”
“London Bridge” is the title song for the new series “Too Much” by Lena Dunham. The story revolves around the romantic experiences of an American in London. Megan Stalter plays the main role in the comedy series. “Too Much” starts on July 10th at the Netflix streaming service.
