Carlo von Tiedemann was buried in silence. His family fulfilled the last wish of the NDR star.

He stood in the spotlight for a lifetime, but Carlo von Tiedemann (1943-2025) wanted to go in peace. The NDR veteran was buried on Wednesday in the closest family in his home town of Quickborn. Only 15 people were invited to an urn burial at the Evangelical Heidefriedhof near Hamburg ,.

“It was Carlos wish”

According to Tiedemann’s widow Julia Laubrunn, family members were also the best friend of the TV star. “It was Carlos wish so that we can mourn in peace,” she explains the little burial. The ceremony was accordingly very private: three of his children reminded special moments in their father’s life in short speeches. The moderator had wished for the musical design during his lifetime. First “Nessun Dorma” from the opera “Turandot” sounded, the end was Frank Sinatras “My Way”.
