Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: The winery war escalated

The bitter legal dispute between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie around her French winery Château Miraval reaches a new escalation level. , the “F1” star submitted new applications to the Superior Court of California on June 30th. The focus of the new development is therefore a Stoli Group businessman. Pitt claims that this first -hand knowledge of Jolie’s sale of the French winery to Tenute del Mondo, the wine division of the Stoli Group, has in 2021. The Hollywood star has been trying to make a statement to the businessman for months and to receive relevant documents from him.

But the businessman has so far refused to publish corresponding documents or to appear for a statement. The Swiss argues that as a foreign national, he cannot be forced to cooperate with the US judiciary. Pitt’s lawyer team brings this refusal to the palm.

“These inquiries go directly to the core allegations regarding Pitt’s objections to the sale,” writes the Oscar Prize winner’s lawyer team in the court documents. They “easily fulfill the criterion for the detection in view of PITT’s claims that Jolie when selling to Stoli, a counterparty from whom she knew that Pitt rejected her, acted with malice”.

The legal dispute began in February 2022 when Pitt submitted a lawsuit. He claims that Jolie sold the winery despite a previous agreement, according to which neither of the two partners was allowed to act without the other. The “Maria” actress countered in September 2022 with a counter-action and accused Pitt to wage a “vengeful war” against her since her divorce in 2016.

The former “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” stars, who separated in 2016 after twelve years and two years of marriage, have six children: Maddox (23), Pax (21), Zahara (20), Shiloh (19) and the twins Vivienne and Knox (16). Her lengthy divorce was only finalized in December last year.

Jolie’s team of lawyers claims in court documents that Pitt refused to buy her share in the winery because she did not want to sign a silence agreement. It is referred to a private jet flight in 2016, in which PITT is said to have become verbally and physically attacking towards his family. After official investigations, the actor was not charged, Jolie refrained from a criminal complaint at the time.

In May 2024, a judge decided that Jolie had to submit confidentiality agreements from eight years to prove that the “Girl, Interrupted” oscar winner himself used the type of confidentiality agreement whose signing she rejected in 2021.
