Dave Stewart is completely enthusiastic about Helene Fischer. The Eurythmics star raves about the professionalism of the pop singer.
Dave Stewart (72), guitarist of the legendary Eurythmics, finds only praise for his German colleague Helene Fischer (40). In an interview, the British musician, who wrote with Annie Lennox (70) pop history, is enthusiastic: the encounter with the hit queen as part of her TV show impressed him.
“She works incredibly hard”
Stewart appeared in the “Helene Fischer Show” in 2023 and performed a Eurythmics Medley together with the show master. “She works incredibly hard. At Helene everything goes ‘Zack, Zack, Zack’,” he recalls the performance. “How she rehearsed positions, how she works with the dancers – I only thought: Wow, this person burns.”
The musician was initially completely unsuspecting what would expect him on the show. “I had no idea what that was,” he admits. Only through a recommendation from his colleagues did he end up on the show: “But I’m friends with the simple minds, and they were there too. So I said to myself: Then we come too.”
Praise for tour partner Amorosi
But not only Dave Stewart appreciates Helene Fischer-she was also impressed, especially from Stewart’s current tour partner Vanessa Amorosi (43), who accompanied him to the TV show. “When Helene heard her singing before the show, she only said: ‘Oh my god!’,” Reports Stewart about the encounter of the German entertainer with the Australian singer.
Lots of surprises in German television shows
The fact that German TV shows sometimes provide unusual moments is nothing new for Dave Stewart. Already in the 1980s he gained curious experiences there. “At the Eurythmics highlight in the 80s, Annie Lennox and I did a few television shows in Germany. And we really never had any idea what was going on,” recalls the singer. Among other things, his colleague Lennox put on stage as a pearl in an XXL outter.
Dave Stewart is one of the most formative characters in pop music. With Eurythmics, together with Annie Lennox in the 1980s, he created world hits such as “Sweet Dreams” and “Here Comes The Rain Again”. After the band resolution in 1990, he worked as a producer of sizes such as Mick Jagger, Bob Dylan and Celine Dion.
