Hearing in London: Chris Brown does not guilty again

The American R&B singer Chris Brown, after the indictment in Great Britain, also advocated not guilty for the minor crime. The 36-year-old denies having attacked a man in a London night club with a bottle.

The hearing on Friday was about charges for assault with actual damage and because of the possession of a weapon – in this case a glass bottle – in public space.

In mid -June, Brown had already pleaded for an attempted serious bodily harm. He was initially arrested in Manchester in mid -May and then charged before he was released against the deposit and could give concerts again.

The background to the process accompanied by great media interest is the incident in London in February 2023. Like Brown, another defendant rejects the allegations. The main process is scheduled to begin in October.

The victim, a music producer, stated that Brown had hit the bottle on his head and stuck and hit him and -when it was already on the ground, as it was said in a BBC report. For Brown, a deposit of five million pounds (the equivalent of 5.85 million euros) had to be deposited so that he could leave the country again for his tour. He performed in Cardiff on Thursday evening.

The Grammy award winner had the big breakthrough 20 years ago with the single “Run it!” done. Many more hits and successful albums followed. Brown already noticed due to violent attacks. In 2009 he had attacked his girlfriend, the singer Rihanna, and was sentenced to probation and social lessons.
