Fashion: Armani wants to be there again in September

The fashion designer Giorgio Armani has reported back to the big fashion shows in Milan and Paris with a newspaper advertisement after his first absence. On his 91st birthday this Thursday, he thanked Annonce for broad support, also on social networks or through personal news. After a hospital stay in June and early July, Armani had not been able to personally take part in his views for the first time.

In the advertisement that appeared in several Italian daily newspapers, it says: “It was not easy for me not to hear your applause live.” In the past few weeks he “felt the hug of those who thought of me”. He also expressly thanked the “affection of the press”. Armani concluded with the words: “Thank you very much. See you in September.” The star designer usually spends the summer in Milan or in his villa on the island of Pantelleria.

Private assets are estimated at seven billion euros

The Italian has been one of the most important fashion designers in the world for decades. After the first years in which he worked for other houses, he founded his own company in the mid -1970s with his partner Sergio Galeotti: the Giorgio Armani Spa. That was the nucleus of a group that is worth many billions today. The money initially came through fashion, then also through cosmetics, watches, jewelry and hotels. Since Galeotti’s early AIDS death in 1985, the company has only belonged to Armani.

His private assets are estimated at seven billion euros. Around the world, 9,250 employees today belong to the group, more than 2,000 businesses with annual sales of more than 2.3 billion euros.
