As a presidential candidate, Donald Trump narrowly escaped an assassination attempt. The satirist “El Hotzo” made hearty comments. That brings him to court.
Comedy author and satirist Sebastian Hotz alias “El Hotzo” comes to court for statements on US President Donald Trump. The Berlin public prosecutor accuses him of reward and approved crimes. On July 23, the trial of him will begin before the Tiergarten district court, as a court spokeswoman announced on request.
The “Süddeutsche Zeitung” had previously reported after the management had drawn attention to the process date. According to the court, a negotiation day has been planned so far.
ARD ended cooperation with “El Hotzo”
Hotz had made the headlines in July last year. At that time, screenshots of posts of comedians circulated on the platform X from the weekend after the assassination attempt on the network onto the later US President Trump, in which he made a connection between a last bus and Trump (“unfortunately just missed”). On the other hand, it was said: “I think it’s absolutely fantastic when fascists die”. The entries were later deleted.
The ARD broadcaster Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB) then ended the cooperation with Hotz at the youth broadcaster Fritz. Shortly afterwards, ARD Kultur also canceled a literary event with him.
