20 years after Prince Albert’s enthronement, he and wife celebrate Princess Charlène at the traditional Red Cross ball.

Arm in arm in Fürst Albert (67) and Princess Charlène (47) on Saturday evening over the red carpet of Sporting Monte-Carlo. For the 76th edition of the traditional Rotkreuz ball, the Monegassian princely couple presented itself in a good mood, in a good mood and in an elegant evening wear for the photographers.

Princess Charlène appeared in an airy light blue evening robe by Lebanese designer Elie Saab with cape sleeves, and she wore a diamond-occupied chain and earrings as well as chrome-colored high heels. She had styled her hair in an elegant updo. Albert appeared in a classic white tuxedo with red fly.

The event that has been taking place since 1948 is used to finance humanitarian projects by the Monegassian Red Cross Organization. Charlène, who has been honorary president of the Red Cross of Monaco since her marriage in 2011, is regularly committed to the principality projects.

More prominent guests

Other members of the princely family were also present. Louis Ducruet, son of Princess Stéphanie, came with his wife Marie in Grün, his sister Camille Gottlieb paid tribute to her late grandmother Grace Kelly with an Elisabetta franchi creation that was reminiscent of designs of the Hollywood legend from the 1950s.

The guest list included prominent personalities such as Formula 1 pilot Charles Leclerc with his partner Alexandra Saint Mleux, dancer Aurélie Dupont, Model Adriana Karembeu and moderator Harry Roselmack. Rock legend Billy Idol, who fueled the willingness to donate of the illustrious society, ensured the background music.

Significant anniversary for the Princely House

A visit to the charity gala on July 12th came together with a special appointment: Albert had the successor of his late father Prince Rainier III exactly 20 years earlier. (1923-2005). Already on April 6, 2005 he had become Monaco’s rain, but the official enthronement only took place three months later.

The anniversary paid tribute to the Fürstenhaus, on which the then 47-year-old Albert is visibly emotionally to be seen on his big day. According to the caption, he received “the key of the city and outlined the essential guidelines of his reign” in a fundamental speech. As a heir to a dynasty that has been present on the Fürstenfelsen for over seven centuries, Albert became the 14th prince of Monaco.

Usually the 25th anniversary of the throne – the so -called silver anniversary – is celebrated. As can be seen from the contribution, Albert has already decided to celebrate his 20th anniversary. For July 19, the palace announced a special celebration “with the Monegassen and members of his family in the spirit of sharing with the national community”.
