King Charles and Prince Harry: Representatives meet for a conversation in London

Perhaps the end of one of the most bitter family feuds in recent Royals history? Last week, high -ranking consultants from King Charles III met for the first time in years. (76) and hisompegated son Prince Harry (40) to confidential conversations – a cautious step towards reconciliation after more than four years of icy silence.

The meeting took place in the Royal Over-Seas League, a traditional private club that is only a few minutes ‘walk from Charles’ residence Clarence House. The place could hardly have been chosen more symbolical: the facility is dedicated to promoting international friendship – exactly what is urgently needed between father and son.

For the Sussex page, Meredith Maines, Harry’s top communication chief and head of his household in Montecito, traveled from California. In pictures she can be seen together with Tobyn Andreae, the king’s communication secretary. They met for what described as “casual drinks”. Liam Maguire, who heads Harry’s British PR team, was also present.

“There was no formal agenda, only loose conversations,” reveals the source. “It was things that both sides wanted to talk about.” After ten minutes on the garden terrace with a view of the Green Park, the three interlocutors retired inside to continue their entertainment.

The meeting marks the first direct communication between the hostile camps in a long time. The fronts have hardened “There is a long way ahead of us, but a communication channel is open for the first time in years,” explains an insider. The encounter is considered the “first step in an approximation process” to restore the broken relationship.

It was also Maines who organized in May by publicly signaling his willingness to reconciliation for the first time. “I would love a reconciliation with my family,” Harry said at the time, even if he at the same time accused his father of not wanting to speak to him “because of this matter of security”.

The security question remains one of the biggest issues between father and son. Harry lost his automatic police protection after the “Megxit” and has been fighting for it since then. He claims that his father could solve the situation if he wanted. Despite these persistent tensions, the meeting is considered pioneering. “It was finally the right time to talk for both sides,” emphasizes the source.
