Four years and three months in prison: Alfons Schuhbeck was convicted on Monday for fraud with corona wages and bankruptcy.
The former star chef Alfons Schuhbeck (76) has been sentenced to a total prison sentence of four years and three months due to fraud with corona wages and bankruptcy. The district court in Munich I fell on Monday, July 14th. The cook, which is suffering from cancer, which is known through many television appearances, was already convicted of tax evasion. Because of his illness, he is currently in prison.
Schuhbeck fully admitted the allegations
With its judgment, the regional court remains just under the public prosecutor’s demands from a prison sentence of four years and seven months. The defense, on the other hand, asked for a penalty “at the lower end”.
Schuhbeck had already confessed on the first day of the trial. “Life led me far up and now all over again,” he said, according to media reports. In addition, he claimed “to be deeply regretted the caused damage” and to do everything in his power in order to repay the money they are entitled to. In his “last word” he apologized once again with all he had damaged ,. This would burden him all his life.
Judge Uwe Habereder said in his verdict in Schuhbeck: “You pulled the emergency brake too late!” Schuhbeck “got too big, too many companies”. He did not want to admit to have failed as a businessman.
It is medically treated outside the prison
Alfons Schuhbeck was sentenced to three years and two months in prison for tax evasion in October 2022. The former television chef initially started his prison sentence in August 2023 in the Landsberg on Lech correctional facility after the Federal Court of Justice had largely confirmed the judgment of the Munich Regional Court. He was later moved to a branch of the JVA in the Rothenfeld district of Andechs.
According to his lawyers, the 76-year-old suffers from incurable cancer and has therefore been treated for a few weeks outside the prison for a few weeks.
