The walker is crazy with Rossini music: Seville’s barber “is released for boys

“The author of the Barber of Seville PRESENT TO FÍGARO, who says in the face of the nobility what in real life nobody is encouraged. It is impertinent and corrosive, Napoléon said that the French Revolution had not made it the taking of the Bastille but the Figaro. It was revolutionary for the time, a work that the big opera houses if they need a blockbuster title schedule it because everyone likes to see this crazy hairdresser again and again, ” says María Jaunarenain charge of the book and the address of a family version of “The barber of Seville”, Opera with music from G. Journalist: How is the contact of the boys with the opera? A priori one might think that it is difficult to capture your attention in this world in which networks prevail and the virtual …

MARIA JAUNARENA: Not at all, the contact is incredible, they applaud in parts where the adult public is not, it is an instant connection with the rhythm proposed by a composer of 200 years ago and they turn on with the performance of the singers. We work especially in the libretto and handle a vocabulary that the boys dominate perfectly. We seek to challenge them with a topic that is relevant to them such as shyness and lie, issues that can occur daily at school.

Q.: How is that competition with networks?

MJ: We know that we compete with Videos of Tik Tok and YouTube, which is digested content, and what we propose is an instance where boys have to be attentive and active. The networks provide passive content, the theater proposes something different, someone who sings, there is a link that is weaved with the interpreter, that generates empathy, respect, connection, silence, and that is the challenges because it happens to them or a partner. The theater generates tolerance and citizen values. It is important that different public schools know the theater, which happens transcends the aesthetic and is citizen experience.

Q.: How do you think this content is going through?

MJ: It raises the cultural horizon to which the boys look, it is one of the most masterful scores written in history, now adapted to fifteen hour, limit of attention of the boys, here distinguish four types of different sounds, piano, percussion, flute and violin, and the performance plus the color palette in the scenery. They follow the plot and also the letters are reproduced to generate participatory experience.

Q.: How is experience with schools?

MJ: Fantastic, the boys are very restless and make silence, they respond to the singers, accompany with applause, it becomes vibrant and when the singers are out they are rockstars, they ask them autographs as if they had been in the lollapalooza.

Q.: How did you adapt this content to the children’s public?

MJ: It is about thinking a relevant issue, no one sleeps, Nessun Dorma, we approached a prince who was not afraid of anything but at night he could not sleep, something that happens to all the boys. This Barber of Seville is from 6 years and talks about not encouraging what happens to one, who is one, and the role of the lies in the life of one and the others. The first adaptation is from the text, an adult work for a certain age, then listening to the Spanish Spanish and that is not ancient Spanish, finally generate good amalgam with the composer. Rossini made a contagious music, where parents and grandparents know the music by heart, the Aria de Figaro was Cortina “The hairdresser of Don Mateo”, so contagious that that is why the barber of Seville is one of the most popular, written with humor by great Pierre-Augustin de Beaumarchais.

Q.: How does this content compete with the wide theatrical billboard that coexists with successful proposals arising from TV or influencers?

MJ: We operate for boys to differentiate ourselves, it has a great attraction with the spawning history, it has a musical content that has the right and duty to know, they have on a tray one of the most masterful scores with luxury artists, singers of the Columbus, of the Argentine of La Plata, of the national polyphonic choir, and a small orchestra to appreciate what is the subtlety of the sound. It is teenagers, has double reading, the whole family has a good time, it is a family integration space where today cell phones both distance and silencing, and also generates the subsequent talk and debate.
