Stevie Wonder He talked about a rumor that suggests that the legendary R&B singer -songwriter is not really blind.

During a performance on July 9 of his mini tour Love, Light & Song In Europe, the 75 -year -old record artist spoke with the public after learning that some people believe they can see.

In a video of the concert, Wonder pauses in his show to talk to the public about his personal life and how blindness has impacted his perception of the world around him.

“I have to tell you something I was thinking and I wanted the world to know. I say it right now,” Wonder said with his characteristic sunglasses. “They know, there have been rumors that I have quotes and all that”.

He told the audience that feeling blind at such an early age “was a blessing” disguised.

Stevie Wonder’s experience living as a blind person

Wonder has talked about living as a blind person in the past, even during a conversation in 2024 with Barack Obama In the Wonder of Stevie podcast.

“I was born. Shortly after, I was blind. My mother went through different things, so my experience with that was deep,” he said and added that his mother cried “every night” until he said: “Mom, you shouldn’t cry, you’re making me hurt my head.”

Wonder then recalled: “And I said: ‘Maybe God has something for me that is bigger than all this.”and that “history showed” that for him.

In addition to its iconic music career, which includes legendary successes such as “Superstition” and “I Wish”Wonder has used his fame to defend various causes.
