Barack Obama says that he would probably have difficulty raising a son. That also has to do with its own story.
Being the father of a son would have been more problematic for ex-US President Barack Obama. “I think we brought up our girls pretty well.” And: “I believe that it would have been more difficult for me to educate a son,” said the 63-year-old to his wife Michelle (61) in their podcast “IMO” in a first published section. The former first lady agrees with her husband.
With a son he might have been “more critical, harder”, Obama suspects: “I just think that father-son relationships would have been more difficult for me, especially if I don’t have a father nearby who shows me.”
Barack and Michelle Obama have two adult daughters, Sasha and Malia. The ex-US president spoke earlier that he “didn’t really know his father, who was killed in a car accident in 1982. “He left my mother and me when I was two years old and only traveled from Kenya once to visit us when I was ten,” wrote Obama in an Instagram post in 2021.
