Special honor for singer Leona Lewis: She was awarded the Order of the British Empire at Windsor Castle.
Leona Lewis (40) can look forward to a special award: King Charles (76) personally awarded the British singer to the Order of the British Empire (OBE). “A huge congratulations to everyone who was honored by the King at Schloss Windsor. Lewis was also among the recipients, who was awarded a OBE for her services to music,” it says.
Lewis won the third season of “The X Factor” in 2006 and then became internationally known with hits like “Bleeding Love”, “Run” and “Better in Time”. In addition to her music career, she is committed to various charitable organizations.
Elegant outfit for ceremony
For the ceremonial ceremony at Windsor Castle, Leona Lewis appeared on Wednesday in a delicate pink dress with asymmetrical hem – shorter at the front, longer at the back. She wore a cape-like bolero. Her stylish appearance was rounded off by white pumps, a suitable handbag and a white fascinator that adorned her openly worn, curly hair.
The OBE is one of the highest civil awards in the United Kingdom and is awarded twice a year. Personalities who have made themselves particularly well deserved in areas such as art, science, charity or public service. Prominent religious includes Stella McCartney, Ewan McGregor, Kylie Minogue and Tom Jones.
Myleene class was also honored
Moderator Myleene Class (47) was also honored. She received the one step of deeper title Member of the Order of British Empire (MBE) – for her commitment in the field of women’s health, her educational work on miscarriages and its commitment to charitable purposes, as the royal house announced.
The former Hear’Say singer and mother of triple has been committed to better support for women for miscarriages for years. Class himself suffered four miscarriages and produced the BAFTA-nominated documentary “Myleene class: miscarriage and me” in 2021. In the photos she shines in a white trouser suit and with black and white fascinator next to the singer in the garden in front of the castle – both proudly present her awards.
