Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have been married for five years. The couple mastered some hurdles in the time.
Princess Beatrice (36) and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi (41) celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary on July 17th. The niece of King Charles III. (76) and the real estate developer can look back on a very challenging year.
Beatrice is stepmother of “Wolfie”
They have been officially a couple since 2018. The daughter of Prince Andrew (65) and Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson (65), which is currently in nine of the British successor list, announced their engagement with Mozzi on September 26, 2019. His father comes from an Italian count family, which is why Mozzi can wear the count title “Conte”. The wedding took place a year later – on July 17, 2020 in the All Saints Chapel in Windsor. The businessman brought his son Christopher Woolf, called “Wolfie” (9), from an earlier relationship with the architect Dara Huang. Beatrice seems to master the role as stepmother.
The spouses quickly got together young people: on September 18, 2021, the first daughter Sienna was born. The birth of the second daughter Athena on January 22, 2025 caused great worries in the couple – because the little one came a few weeks too early and weighed only around two kilograms, as the royal family announced on his Instagram account at the time.
Open words about your premature birth in January
In March, the princess opened openly about this difficult time in a contribution to the British “Vogue”. “After the routine examinations, we realized that our treasure had to be monitored exactly, and we had to prepare for an early arrival.” She had learned that “so little control” and many questions have been done. “Will there be a healthy born? Will there be complications? How will you bring the rest of the family life under one roof while trying to keep a tiny person safe and healthy?” The uncertainty leaves an “overwhelming fear of the unknown”.
The headlines around Beatrice’s parents should not have been so easy for the couple in recent years. Beatrice’s father Prince Andrew fell out of favor due to the Epstein scandal. King Charles’ brother lost royal titles and privileges after he was said to have paid millions to Virginia Giuffre (1983-2025) in an out-of-court agreement in an out-of-court agreement. She had claimed that she had been forced to sex with the British Royal as a 17-year-old. Andrew has always denied the allegations, but had to withdraw from all public offices and is no longer allowed to make appointments for the royal family.
And then Beatrice and her younger sister Eugenie (35) were also worried about the health of her beloved mother: Fergie had to be operated on in 2023 for breast cancer. Later, skin cancer was also discovered, but it is not said to have scattered.
Beatrice is no longer the smiled -at -down princess
With all of these challenges, Mozzi seems to be a kind of rock in the surf for Beatrice. At his side, she blamed herself from the often smiled -at princess – just think of her striking deer fascinator at the wedding of Prince William (43) and Princess Kate (43) in 2011 – to a firm support for the royals, which now shines style -consciously at events. It has taken over numerous patrons and is therefore committed to the topics of dyslexia, children’s hospice and cancer of young people.
The private experiences with daughter Athena added another task. Beatrice is now also the patron of the Borne Foundation for researching premature births. At the beginning of March, she completed her first appearance after birth at a charity gala of the foundation – together with her husband. The couple presented themselves in front of the photographers and as an intimate team. Obviously, the drastic experiences and the big worries have welded the two closer together.
