Lighten hair: what do I have to consider?
If you want to lighten your hair a little, you don’t have to use chemical hair colors and bleaching directly. There are many different ways to get the hair brighter – for example with home remedies. Important to know beforehand: Of course, natural bleaching has a weaker effect in darker hair tones. With dark brown hair, of course, you don’t get any light blonde highlights. But: You can still create a visible effect and conjure up something fresh in the hair.
Test strands first
Even if home remedies usually bring a little gentler and less strong results than chemical means, it is important to know that these effects do not reverse and are certainly not comparable to a professional visit to the hairdresser. In addition, hair reacts differently to the different (house) means, which is always dependent on the hair structure and color. And: If you have sensitive scalp, you should always test in one place whether you can take the home remedies. If something feels uncomfortable, you should always wash out the remedy thoroughly.
Another tip: It is best to test the remedy on a strand and look at the result. In a successful test, the remedy can then be distributed either throughout the hair or only used for strands. In a failed test, you should of course search for a different home remedy or fall back on color from the drugstore. Anyone who puts the color on the strands is best used Or a suitable brush.
These home remedies ensure visible results
lemon
Lemons are a classic home remedy to lighten his hair. Squeeze three or more lemons depending on the hair length and spread evenly in the moistened hair. Let the whole thing work for half an hour. With colored or heavily stressed hair, it is advisable to first distribute the juice on the base, to let it work for 15 minutes and only put the remaining juice into the lengths so as not to strain it even more. Then rinse well.
Important: a nourishing is essential afterwards. Because citric acid is of course a bit aggressive and quickly dries out the hair.
chamomile
But especially for blonde hair is also suitable to lighten the hair. With darker hair, chamomile ensures light highlights. For this bleaching method, pour hot water with hot water in a saucepan first in a saucepan. Chamber tea also works just as well, whether loose or in the bag. Pour the cooled infusion into the washed, still wet hair. The whole thing does not need to be rinsed afterwards and has a great brightening and shimmering effect.
Honey
Yes, honey can also lighten the hair – about a shade. The advantage of this method: Nurs the hair additionally. If it is warmed up, honey develops the enzyme peroxide, which naturally brightens the hair. Important: honey should not be heated to more than 40 degrees, otherwise the enzyme will be destroyed. The slightly heated honey should be mixed in equal parts with a (preferably silicone-free) hair treatment and put in the freshly washed hair. Wrap the whole thing with aluminum foil and wrap a towel over it. So the mixture appears better and remains nice and warm. Wash the hair after at least one hour of exposure.
baking powder
Baking powder should also make hair brighter in a natural way. This home remedy is particularly effective for brown hair- and can even neutralize an unwanted yellow or red stitch. To brighten the hair, you can dissolve two packages of baking powder in 250 milliliters of lukewarm water. The whole thing is then distributed in dry hair and should move in for about 20 minutes. Then wash and maintain as usual.
Lighten the hair with hair colors and bleaching
If you are a little braver and trust yourself to work with chemical means, you can of course also use finished hair colors or bleaching. However, you should be a little practiced in dealing with it or have someone at home who supports you when you apply. Because the results of such funds are usually more noticeable than in the home remedies – and so errors are of course much more visible. Alternatively, you can also finish Retinish that can lighten the hair gently and usually also maintain at the same time.
So that the hairdressers do not have twice and triple work in the event of a color accident and it becomes all the more expensive, the means of choice should also be tested on a strand first to see how much you should apply and how long it is best to leave it on. In addition, it is best to see what the color actually looks like in the end.
