For days there has been speculation about the health of Trigema patriarch Wolfgang Grupp. Now his daughter Bonita has commented for the first time – questions remain.
For days there has been ambiguity about Wolfgang Grupp’s state of health. Now Bonita Grupp, the daughter of the Trigema patriarch, has expressed the case for the first time-and announced that the family will be “in due course”. This was said by the 35-year-old of the “Südwest Presse” when visiting a group of a group of the Women’s Union Zollernalb.
Last week it became known that the former Trigema boss was in the hospital. The textile company initially did not provide any information about the reasons for the 83-year-old’s stay.
Wolfgang Grupp: Why did the police come?
However, reports of a police operation in Group’s place of residence Burladingen provided occasion for speculation. A police spokesman confirmed that an injured person from a private apartment was taken to the hospital with the rescue helicopter. An external participation and a criminal offense had not been determined. However, several media reported, including the “Schwäbische Zeitung”, and there had been a person with gunshot wounds in the area of Trigema.
Wolfgang Grupp is one of the most dazzling German entrepreneurs. He was born in 1942 in the bustle of Burladingen on the Swabian Alb. In 1969 he took over the textile company Trigema founded by his grandfather. It produces laundry, leisure and sports clothing and thus advertises 100 percent “made in Germany”. She became known large parts of the population with TV commercials in which a monkey appeared. At the beginning of 2024 Grupp withdrew from the corporate management and handed over the management to his son Wolfgang Grupp Junior and his daughter Bonita.
Note from the editorial team: In a previous version of this article, citing the “Südwest Presse”, Bonita Grupp had spoken of an “accident”. The newspaper has now corrected its presentation – and the star has now also adjusted this article. We apologize.
