The time after his participation in the RTL jungle camp was extremely hard for singer Jay Khan. “I had hell on earth six or seven years later,” he told the German press agency. “Today it might be an afternoon report at Promiflash on a Tuesday. The jungle episode is also part of his autobiography “Tariq and I”, which has just come onto the market and in which the former member of the successful boy band Us5 gives very personal insights into his life-from growing up as a tariq in a Berlin prefabricated building to appearances on the big stages.

Today he calls it a mistake in being in the jungle in 2010. “The attraction of the supposedly quickly deserved money and the greed after a broad perception blind me,” he writes in the autobiography, in which he also emphasizes: the feelings for Indira were not played: “I feel drawn to the woman.”

Khan’s biography also makes headlines because he accuses of what he calls a sexual assault on his discovery, the boy band overfather and founder of the Backstreet Boys, Lou Pearlman, who died in 2016.

“It was a total roller coaster ride”

Even today he still makes music and only released his new album “Damnt” about a week ago. But he also did not want to keep the dark side in his life, says Khan of the dpa. And that’s why he also wrote in the book that his grandfather killed his grandma.

Dark family secret

“Of course, this is a drastic, traumatizing experience on the most personal level that has been there. It has been almost 18 years ago, but this consistent hidden has created a look over the years as if it had a dark, dirty secret and that didn’t help me in any way,” he says in the dpa interview. “It was important to me to explain my grandfather. My grandfather was the most sensitive, dearest, most unaggressively person and hadn’t had any fly.
