From “a terribly nice family” to their MS disease: Christina Applegate wants to publish their memoirs.
Christina Applegate (53) has been working on the show business since early childhood. She was already in front of the cameras as a toddler, and her memoirs should appear at the beginning of next year. The book will not only be about her long career, but also about moments away from the ramp light. In 2021, the actress had made it public that she was suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS). Applegate also writes about this.
Applegate became known to a wider audience primarily through the role of Kelly Bundy, the “Dumpfbacke”, in which popular US sitcom “a terribly nice family” in the 80s and 90s. Over the years, however, the Emmy award winner could show the critics umpteen times that there is much more in it than just the naive blonde. In front of the cameras, however, the cameras have been much quieter because of their illness in recent years, most recently she was seen in the “Dead to Me” series.
“You with the Sad Eyes” will be released next March
Your memoirs will have the title “You with the Sad Eyes” (German with the sad eyes “) and will be released in March 2026. It deals with appeals life and their legacy, starting in their childhood in the 1970s, to their ascent to today.
Applegate decided to write the book “when I was forced to slower,” the magazine quotes the actress. “I had a career on television and in the film since I was three years old – and I loved it. But with MS, all things I thought I thought was shifted.” For the first time in her life, she was able to pause and think about anything.
She had experienced a lot and for her it was scary to tell of all of this. “But no matter how dark it gets, I wrote it because I really believe that books can give people the feeling that they are less alone,” said Applegates. What she wrote will be “real. It will be filled with the ups and downs, humor and grief of life.” She wanted to show her “true ego” – and that has a lot to say.
Applegate had made public in the summer of 2021 to be ill. A few weeks ago, she explained in Conan O’Briens (62) that she actually left “the house no longer”. The disease is “the worst thing I have ever experienced in my life. That is the worst thing I’ve ever gone through.”
