With “Kiss Cam” recordings at a Coldplay concert, the affair flew between two married colleagues-and went viral. Now front man Chris Martin is moving up.
At first it was actually only a harmless camera swivel at a Coldplay concert-until it became a huge internet scandal that ended careers and probably also destroyed marriages. When the infamous “Kiss cam” ceo Andy Byron and his HR manager Kristin Cabot caught, the couple ducked away. Too late: the Internet had identified it shortly afterwards and her affair was public.
Chris Martin couldn’t help but a comment at the time: “Oh, look at these two. Either they have an affair or they are really very shy.” As he was right, it quickly became clear.
Coldplay front man follows the follow-up concert
Well, almost a week later, Martin followed again at a concert in Madison, Wisconsin. With a wink he warned the fans of the dreaded camera. “We would like to say ‘Hello’ in the crowd,” announced the musician, while relaxing his acoustic guitar. “And how do we do that? We use our cameras and show some of you on the big screen.”
The swipe followed promptly: “So please – if you haven’t made up yet, then it does now!” The fans immediately understood the allusion and acknowledged them with laughter. how Martin obviously enjoyed his own joke.
Career ended before in ruins
The story was less amusing for Byron. The well-known tech CEO was released from his obligations at the Astronomer company on Saturday-just three days after the viral incident. In an official statement by the company, it was unequivocally: “Our managers are asked to rely in behavior and responsibility. This standard was not recently met.” Kristin Cabot, who is responsible for such compliance standards in the company as head of HR of all people, is now facing the consequences.
