In May, Billy Joel canceled all of his upcoming concerts. The reason: a serious brain disease. Now the musician spoke in a podcast about how he was doing.
After the cancellation of his concerts for brain disease, US music legend Billy Joel has commented on his health. “I feel good. My sense of balance is in the bucket. It feels like I’m on a boat,” said the 76-year-old musician in the “Club Random” podcast by stand-up comedian Bill Maher (69).
Joel had canceled all the upcoming concerts in May. The “Piano Man” suffers from a so-called normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH) or ancient brain pressure, as was announced on its official Instagram profile. The disease, which can cause equilibrium disorders, visual and hearing problems, has been tightened by recent appearances.
Brain disorder “sounds much worse than it feels for me”
“It has not yet been fixed. It is still being worked on,” said Joel. The cause is not clear. “I thought it had to get off,” he stated. On the reply of his conversation partner that he didn’t drink, the musician said: “I made it earlier, like a hole.”
Already in March, Joel, who became world famous for health reasons, had already postponed with songs like “Piano Man” or “We Didn’t Start the Fire” for health reasons. “They always refer to what I have as a brain disorder – that sounds much worse than it feels for me,” he said.
Last week, the first part of the documentary about the musician was published on the US broadcaster HBO, who is entitled “And So It Goes”.
