“Warm 12th birthday for Prince George,” says the Instagram post, which King Charles III’s official account. (76) shared in his story. This time the photo is not from Princess Kate, who otherwise often reaches the camera herself, but from photographer Josh Shinner. the recording was made in Norfolk at the beginning of the year. The family has worked with Shinner several times – he also photographed this year’s Father’s Day picture of Prince William with his three children.

Last year, Kate and William congratulated with a more serious black and white photo, on which the future king had a lot of grown up. Then George wore a suit and a white shirt. In 2025 he now points to a wooden fence in the middle of nature, with a shirt rolled shirt and a brown vest. The young Royal, who seems to be more and more similar to his father, wears a linked friendship bracelet on his arm.

Big changes in the new year of life

Prince George’s birth was eagerly awaited worldwide. When he was born on July 22, 2013 in St. Mary’s Hospital in London, hundreds of photographers and royal fans were waiting for days. His baptism took place on October 23, 2013 in the Chapel Royal in the St James’s Palace in the closest family. He was less than a year old when he accompanied his parents in April 2014 on his first trip abroad to Australia and New Zealand. Over the years, he has made more and more appearances and is slowly introduced to his future task. Most recently, he accompanied his parents for the tennis tournament in Wimbledon to congratulate the winner Jannik Sinner (23).

He has been visiting the Lambrook School in Berkshire since September 2022, his sister Charlotte (10) and brother Louis (7). For George it is the last school year there. Royal experts assume that, like his father once, he will visit the renowned Eton College. Another change is pending on the twelfth birthday: According to the old tradition, George should no longer be allowed to fly together with William so that in the event of a crash, both heirs of the throne will not be killed. It remains to be seen whether the family will follow this strict rule.
