We had to say goodbye to these celebrities this year
Also this year we had to say goodbye to many well -known personalities. One last look at those who are remembered.
The death of Hollywood star Gene Hackman († 94) and his wife Betsy Arakawa († 65), both of whom were found dead in their house in Santa Fe on February 26. As became known later, the actor suffering from Alzheimer’s had apparently survived his younger wife by a week. While she had died of a disease triggered by so-called Hantaviruses, Hackman succumbed to cardiovascular disease.
The early death of the ice hockey player Tobias Eder, who succumbed to cancer at the age of only 26, deeply touched. With the actor Horst Janson († 89), TV presenter Max Schaudzer († 84) and the radio presenter Carlo von Tiedemann († 81), three show greats also said goodbye to the stage this year.
Grief for well -known personalities
The Pope also died this year after a long illness. The head of the Roman Catholic Church was 88 years old.
Likewise, some great politicians left us this year, such as Bernhard Vogel († 92), former Prime Minister of Rhineland-Palatinate and Thuringia, the former Federal Interior Minister and social liberal FDP politician Gerhart Baum († 92) and former Federal President Horst Köhler († 81).
