The Jonas Brothers were the idol of many girls at the beginning of their career. But even as a teenager, they had to ask themselves intimate questions. That also had to do with the rings they were wearing at the time.
The Jonas Brothers criticize inappropriate questions that were asked as teenagers to live their sex life. “We were known for our chastity rings at the time,” said Joe Jonas (35) in a joint interview with his brothers in the “Podcrushed” podcast. In their parish, everyone at ten or eleven had worn such a ring, which showed others that they were “waiting for the right person”, the singer said.
The brothers Joe, Nick (32) and Kevin (37) Jonas became famous and teenage idols as young people in the mid-2000s. When he was 15 or 16, journalists had asked him about these rings, Joe Jonas described – “And you say: I don’t want to talk about it”. Someone then threatened him: “Well, then I write that you are in a sect,” he said.
His younger brother Nick (32) praised the development that existed since. Nowadays “it would be completely unimaginable or inappropriate to ask a 14-year-old questions about his sex life”.
In recent years, other stars had also denounced that they had previously been sexualized as a teenager and that they were asked inappropriate questions. Today, for example, previous interviews with Britney Spears are notorious, in which the very young singer was confronted with questions about her sex life or external rumors.
