In the clip, we see the filmmaker Marty Dibergi (Rob Reiner) update people with what has happened with Spinal Tap from their first film, This is spinal tap. Then we see the central trio of Tap de Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest), David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean) and Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer), all appearing their age and carrying quite sedentary lives, in marked contrast with their past lives as stadium rock gods.


The trailer shows us the band’s efforts to meet for a last ferret, including their efforts to recruit a drummer suicidal enough to play at the concert, their marketing efforts and if one (or two) of them dying on stage would help boost advertising for the concert and cement its legacy.
