Hulk Hogan’s wife Sky Daily mourns: “I thought we still had time”

“I was not ready for it … and my heart is in shards” – for her late husband Hulk Hogan. The wrestling legend died on Thursday at the age of 71. In an emotional tribute, his third wife revealed details about the last difficult months.

“He had been struggling with some health problems lately, but I really believed that we would overcome them,” wrote the 49-year-old on Friday. “I had so much trust in his strength. I thought we had more time.”

The wrestling superstar, whose bourgeois name was Terry Bollea, died on Thursday, July 24th, in his house in Clearwater, Florida. As local authorities announced, emergency calls were received in the morning due to cardiac arrest. Hogan was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later declared dead.

Particularly tragic: On Tuesday, his long -time friend and manager Jimmy had written hard on social media that Hogan’s state of health was “phenomenal”. The news of sudden death was therefore completely unexpected.

In her emotional tribute, Sky Daily described the loss as “suddenly and impossible to process”. At the same time, she gave an intimate insight into the relationship with her husband: “He was a legend for the world … but for me he was my Terry. The man I loved. My partner. My heart.”

She also reported from Hogan’s devotion to his fans: “He loved his fans so much and despite his growing physical complaints, he did everything he could to be there for her, to take autographs, take photos and connect with the people who supported him through everything.”

The love story between Sky Daily and Hulk Hogan began in February 2022 when the yoga teacher and mother of triple was sighted at a concert by Bret Michaels on Hogan’s side. Their relationship quickly developed: in July 2023 they foke, just two months later they married in an intimate ceremony in Florida.

“My new life starts now!” Hogan enthusiastically on the marriage at the time should only take almost two years.

Hogan had been married three times. From 1983 to 2009 he was married to Linda Hogan, with whom he had two children: daughter Brooke (born 1988) and son Nick (born 1990). His second marriage to Jennifer McDaniel lasted from 2010 to 2021.

In her farewell tribute, Sky Daily also found comforting words for herself and the bereaved: “He was a believing Christian, and I find comfort in the knowledge that his soul is in peace and that he was welcomed at home. Please keep his family and everyone who loved him, while we try to cope with this new reality.”
