Mother of her ex-flame was not enthusiastic
Matty Healy’s mother makes no secret of what she thought of her son’s Taylor Swift romance.
The 1975 front man Matty Healy (36) does not take a leaf out of her mouth when it comes to the short romance of her son with Taylor Swift (35). During an appearance, Denise Welch (67) made up for turmoil in the studio with honest words.
When moderator Andy Cohen (57) asked the actress after Swift’s album “The Tortured Poet’s Department”, which apparently revolved around the relationship with her son, what a remarkable answer followed: “Being your mother -in -law is a role that I am happy to have lost.”
Clear words on US television
The studio audience reacted audibly to this direct statement. What relativized quickly: “Not that I had something against her! It was just – it was difficult.” The British actress continued: “Obviously, I am not allowed to talk about this episode under the death penalty, but being your mother -in -law is a role that I am happy to have lost.”
Finally, what a particularly piquant remark added: “You – listen, you can’t say anything, and then she writes an entire album about it.” This statement refers to Swift’s album “The Tortured Poets Department”, which contains several songs that apparently act from the relationship with Healy, including “Guilty As Sin?”, “Fresh Out the Slammer” and “I Can Fix Him (No Realy I Can)”.
Son “worn everything”
Welch also praised her 36-year-old son for his dealings with media attention: “Matty wore everything with the socket.” The short romance between the musician and the pop icon caused an international sensation in spring 2023.
The two stars had already met in 2014, but only started data years later. In May 2023, they were photographed in New York City after Healy was spotted at Swift’s “Eras Tour” in Nashville. However, the relationship ended again in June – according to insiders it had been “always relaxed”.
New love, new future
In the meantime, the tide has turned. What enthused from Healy’s new fiance: “He is very happy with his great fiance Gabriella, who is beautiful.” We are talking about model and singer Gabbriette Bechtel, who is known as Gabbrierte under the artist name.
“We moved on,” summarized the chapter Swift together. This also applies to Swift – since September 2023 she has been with NFL star Travis Kelce from the Kansas City Chiefs.
