Once at “Popstars”, now back on stage: For the first time in years, the band Monrose will come together again – at the Berlin Christopher Street Day.
For many millennials, they are inextricably linked to their teenage period, now there was a small comeback: The girl band Monrose (“Hot Summer”) performed on Saturday evening at the Christopher Street Day in Berlin. As a main act, the singers Bahar Kizil and Senna Gammour came onto the stage in front of the Brandenburg Gate. The third in the federal government, Mandy Capristo, was not there.
“I really had fun, I’ll tell you honestly,” Gammour told the TV station Alex Berlin in an interview that was released on Instagram. “It was again in 2006. It was beautiful.” The concert would have brought up many feelings, said the 45-year-old. According to the organizers, the band has not been together on stage for more than ten years.
In 2010 the group dissolved
Kizil added: “For us it is of course nostalgia because we grew up with Monrose and the Queeren Community. They simply made us great for the most part.” Experience was priceless, she later said in a private Instagram story. “I’m still not checking what happened today,” said the 36-year-old. “It was unforgettable.”
Monrose was put together in 2006 at the casting show “Popstars”. Her album “Tempation” made it to the charts in 2006. Their records reached platinum and five gold status four times. The group dissolved in 2010. Successful bands that were created thanks to the “Popstar” format were also the No Angels and Bro’sis.
