Shortly before his death, Ozzy Osbourne played one last concert with his legendary band Black Sabbath. It would not have been possible without his wife.
Ozzy Osbourne spent almost his whole life on stage. In the end, however, the rock star – difficult to get health problems – could hardly appear publicly. It was all the more important to him to play one last concert with his legendary band Black Sabbath.
But this show would almost not have occurred. Osbourne and his bandmates wanted to appear again in their hometown Birmingham in its original line -up – for the first time in 20 years. Only according to the English newspaper “Mirror” did not want to take the risk. The rock star’s health was too bad, it said.
Sharon Osbourne found the solution
Ultimately, it was said to have been Sharon Osbourne, who made his husband his last concert possible. The 72-year-old conveyed between the band and the insurance company: Ozzy Osbourne should sit instead of as planned and otherwise usual during the concert. An insurer got involved and the show could take place.
So Black Sabbath performed on July 5 under the title “Back to the Beginning” in Villa Park, the stadium of the Premier League association Aston Villa. 45,000 fans were there live, the concert was broadcast worldwide via livestream. The income went to charity.

Ozzy Osbourne died 17 days after his farewell concert
Osbourne was sitting on a black throne – an allusion to his title as “Prince of Darkness”. Due to his Parkinson’s disease and severe back problems, the rock star could hardly stand. He brought his last concert together with his former bandmates with great efforts, but ultimately confidently.
Ozzy Osbourne died 17 days after the performance at the age of 76. The performance had given him new strength again in the last days of his life, said a long -time friend “Page Six”: “It gave him energy and fulfilled him with life. He had really broken down, and after the show he was completely he himself. It is a wonderful end.” Ozzy Osbourne apparently owes the fact that this happened to his wife.
