The streaming platform will launch a new production made by referents of the TV comedy of its country.
The Netflix streaming platform premieres this week “Dead SL” A new Spanish black humor production. The series will premiere with a staggered release. The first two seasons will be available as of July 31, 2025. The third season will arrive on the platform on August 21 of the same year.
Contubernio Films, the producer responsible for the series, is known as the reference of the Spanish comedy. After the success of “There is no one who lives here”, Laura and Alberto Caballero founded the producer in 2011. The company produced sixteen seasons of “the one that is coming” and four seasons of “El Pueblo”. “Male Alfa” reached three seasons, confirming the success of the producer in the comic genre. This series is an original production of the Movistar +platform, which will now go to Netflix

What is “Dead SL”
“Dead SL” narrates the adventures of a family funeral home and its eccentric employees. The plot begins with the death of Gonzalo Torregrosa, founder of the Torregrosa funeral home. Dámaso Carrillo, his right hand, aspires to assume control of the business. However, Gonzalo’s widow, Nieves, a determined septuagenarian, takes the reins of the company.
The new direction of the funeral home generates internal conflicts. Nieves has the support of his son -in -law Chemi, an enthusiastic but incompetent marketing expert. Gonzalo’s daughters, on the other hand, prefer to close the family business and set up a gym. While the family debates the future of the company, Dámaso conspires to recover control. The funeral home faces external challenges, such as the Transitus competition, a rival company with expansion plans.
The series addresses issues such as business succession, family conflicts and competition in the funeral market. A case of sexual harassment within the company threatens Gonzalo Torregrosa’s legacy. Black humor and absurd situations characterize the tone of production. The combination of eccentric characters and crazy plots creates a unique comic atmosphere.
