Young Money rapper loses son after seizure
Rapper Mack Maine mourns the loss of his 20-year-old son Isaiah, who died after a seizure. His moving farewell post.
It is the hardest day in Mack Maine’s life (43). The rapper, with a bourgeois name Jermaine Anthony Preyan, has to say goodbye to his 20-year-old son Isaiah, who was also known as Zeke. On July 16, the young man died in his home in California after a seizure.
Accompanied by 20 photos, the musician from New Orleans shared the tragic news with the world on July 28th. “I’ve been trying to find the power since last night, publishing this post, so are patient with me,” Mack Maine began his moving lines.
Mack Maine: “I’m still shocked”
The words of the rapper reveal the pain of a father who has lost his child: “I am still shocked and still process the fact that he is gone. I am still confused, still question life and why my child and not me.”
But despite the incredible grief, Mack Maine also finds grateful words for the time he was allowed to spend with his son. “Zeke, thank you for giving me one of the greatest gifts that I have ever received: the fatherhood! The experience and the connection between you and me have given me meaning.”

The photos that Mack Maine shared show touching moments between father and son. In a picture, Isaiah plays a musical instrument, on most other they shine arm in arm into the camera. Further recordings in the Instagram stories show the young man in school projects and together with famous friends of his father such as Drake and Swizz Beatz.

A day full of pain
Timing could hardly be cruel: Mack Maine published the news on his birthday – a day that also marked the second day of his own father’s death. “They say God gives his hardest struggles to his strongest soldiers, but …”, he wrote, adding two facial facial emojis.
At the end of his post, the rapper addressed a special birthday appeal to his followers: “I ask you to hug the hugging that you love and press them tight … If you cannot hug them, she calls and tells them that you love them.”
