US President Donald Trump has opened a new golf course in Scotland and played a round in Aberdeen.

After Donald Trump cut the red ribbon for the inauguration, he reached the golf club and played a game himself. “We play quickly and then I travel back to Washington, DC and we extinguish fire around the world,” said the US President, like that.

“We ended a war yesterday,” he also explained to the ceremony and thus referred to the ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia: “This is much more important than playing golf. As much as I like it, it is much more important.”

Then Donald Trump went to the golf game with his family. Son Eric Trump, Irish Profigolfer Paul McGinley (58) and the American professional Rich Beem (54) were there. Before he continued his round of golf, Trump said media reports: “I guess we will beat a few balls. And we will play the round. I am really looking forward to playing”.

The new golf course is located outside of Aberdeen and is named after Trump’s mother Mary Anne Macleod (1912-2000), which was born in Scotland. Eric Trump described the golf course as the “passion project of my father”. Trump is said to have two more golf courses in Scotland, in total there are around 15.
