On the 44th anniversary of Diana’s wedding, her brother Charles Spencer published a photo of the sibling never seen before.
Exactly 44 years after the wedding of the late Princess Diana (1961-1997) with today’s King Charles (76), Diana’s brother Charles Spencer (61) shared a still unknown family photo. The 9th Earl Spencer published on Instagram.
Strict swimming teacher Mrs. Lansdowne
The black and white photo shows the siblings in bathing clothes at the swimming pool of her parents’ house on the Sandringham estate. “A long past summer at the swimming pool of our childhood home Park House, Sandringham – Diana and I proudly show our swimming badges, which were sewn on our swimsuits,” wrote the 61 -year -old about the moving snapshot.
Those swimming badges were awarded by a “rather intimidating but very talented swimming instructor” called Mrs. Lansdowne “sparingly”, the historian and author recalls in the post of childhood with his sister, and adds: “We were never outside of this pool.”
Tradition of loving memory
Even if Earl Spencer does not expressly mentioned the importance of the date in the Instagram contribution, the election probably did not happen by accident. On that day in 1981, the then so -called “wedding of the century” took place, which was followed by around 750 million television viewers on the entire globe. Diana officially became a member of the royal family through her marriage to the then Prince Charles.
Charles Spencer is known for regularly honoring his late sister with social media contributions. It was only on July 1st – Diana would have been 64 years old on this date – he had published another childhood photo that had never been seen before ,.
