Princess Kate once studied art history, now she was allowed to curate her own small exhibition. In London you can see selected historical objects.
A watercolor picture by the popular British children’s book author Beatrix is one of the objects that the British Princess Catherine selected for her small exhibition in a new branch of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The exhibition is intended to show how historical objects can influence the areas of fashion, design, film, art and creativity today, the museum explained. The “mini exhibition” was presented on Wednesday.
Kate had already selected the objects for “Makers and Creators” during a visit to the museum’s camp last month. “Objects tell a story,” said the princess, who herself studied art history herself. A collection of objects could create a narrative about our past and serve as inspiration for the future, she added.
This lock could be the new home of William and Kate
Fort Belvedere
It sounds like a property from a historical adventure film: Fort Belvedere. The castle built at the end of the 18th century is located at the southern end of the Windsor Great Park and, according to reports, could be the new home of Prince William and his family. In 2022, the British heir to the throne moved to the Adelaide Cottage with his wife, Princess Kate, and the three children together. But the property on the bottom of the Windsor Home Park should now become too small for the family. Fort Belvedere offers eight bedrooms, five bathrooms, a pool and a tennis court as well as a 59 hectare property. It once served as a summer residence, later as a hunting lodge. Between 1930 and 1936 Eduard VIII lived on Fort Belvedere. He met there with his beloved Valais Simpson and signed his abdication declaration as a British king. Most recently, the Castle was inhabited by the Canadian billionaire couple Hilary and George Weston

Among other things, Princess Kate chose a fairy costume
The objects, including a vase from the Quing dynasty, a handmade quilt from the 19th century and a fairy costume from a ballet from 1960, are now exhibited in the East Storehouse of the famous Viktoria and Albert Museum in London. The warehouse and branch office of the museum opened in spring. Objects from the museum archive are exhibited on huge shelves.
The objects selected by the princess can be viewed in the museum by early 2026. For this purpose, visitors request the objects free of charge via an online system of the museum to take a look at them in the museum’s branch.
