Sportstars are shocked after Laura Dahlmeier’s accident. Among other things, Magdalena Neuner and Uschi Disl are concerned about their colleague.

The fate of Laura Dahlmeier (31) is still uncertain. The former biathlete crashed seriously while mountaineering in Pakistan. When climbing the Laila Peak at around 5,700 meters high, the two -time Olympic champion was hit by a rockfall on Monday. According to her management, she is “at least seriously injured” that a helicopter crew was unable to notice any signs of life after a overflight. The rescue workers were still unable to penetrate her two days after the accident.

The sympathy from the world of sport is overwhelming. Biathlon Olympic champion Denise Herrmann-Wick (36) does not give up hope. “If someone can create inhuman, then Laura. We are all in her thoughts with her and her family and send the best thoughts towards Pakistan”,

Biathlon legend Magdalena Neuner (38) is particularly moving. “I think of you, Laura,” she writes down. In the comments, numerous sports stars join this idea, including dressage rider Isabell Werth (56), boxing world champion Tina Rupprecht (32) and gymnastics Olympic champion Fabian Hambüchen (37).

Uschi Disl: “You can’t foreseen nature”

Peter Schlickenrieder (55), national cross-country skiing coach and close friend of Laura Dahlmeier, received the shocking news directly from Dahlmeier’s father Andreas. “Everyone is currently floating in the uncertain,” says Schlickenrieder, who was often on a hiking and climbing tour with the Bavarian. “Hopefully she will come out safely.”

Winter sports star Felix Loch (36) is also deeply affected on social media. The toboggan runner writes: “Suddenly time stands still. We all think of you, Laura !!” The also two-time biathlon Olympic champion Evi Diesbacher stand (45) explains: “We are in your thoughts with you Laura!”

“It is a terrible and bad news. Of course I hope that it has only been injured and not worse,” hopes Biathlon legend Uschi Disl (54) in the “Bild” newspaper. Disl emphasizes that Dahlmeier is “a really experienced mountaineer” and knows exactly what she has to adjust to the mountains, but: “Nature cannot be foreseen if such a rockfall comes.”

After the salvage mission started on Tuesday, the rescuers – including mountain climber icon Thomas Huber (58) – had to temporarily stop the mission in the evening after darkness. The rescue operation was resumed on Wednesday.
