On July 31, fans celebrate Harry Potters 45th birthday – 36 percent of Germans have read at least one volume according to a survey. The proportion of young adults is significantly higher.
According to a survey, over a third of people in Germany read at least one band of the “Harry Potter” series. This was the result of a current survey by the YouGov opinion research institute.
Fans celebrate the birthday of the legendary sorcerer’s apprentice on July 31. The author of the series, JK Rowling, has her birthday on the same day. While the British turned 60, Harry Potter is now 45.
According to the representative survey, for which YouGov interviewed almost 3000 people, 36 percent of Germans aged 18 and over have read at least one book in the series. Women state more frequently than men of reading all the books (21 percent vs. 14 percent of men); 18 percent say this in the total population.
In the age of age, the younger ones are ahead: 24 percent have read all books among the 25 to 34 year olds; Overall, the “Harry Potter” books have read this generation (55 percent, at least one of the series).
