Jason Momoa says goodbye to his beloved full beard: the actor has shaved for the first time in six years.
A hairy farewell for Jason Momoa (45): The “Aquaman” star separated from his striking full beard after six years. The reason for this drastic decision is the filming of “Dune: Part Three”, in which he again embodies the role of Duncan Idaho.
Jason Momoa: “I hate it”
Momoa personally documents the heavy grip to the razor. “I haven’t shaved for six years and now the time has come again,” he writes about the clip in which he says goodbye to all beard hair. “Just for you, Denis”, the actor is aimed at “Dune” director Denis Villeneuve (57).
After shaving, Jason Momoa with a smooth face can hardly be recognized. “Oh man. Damn, I hate it,” he finally states.
With the video, Momoa actually wants to draw attention to something completely different from his appearance. He uses the spotlight to present his environmental brand, which sells aluminum bottles as an alternative to plastic.
The return of the Duncan Idaho
Many fans are surprised that Jason Momoa will step back in front of the camera. Finally, his – beardless – character Duncan Idaho died in the first “Dune” film the heroic death. The sword master and mentor could not be seen in “Dune: Part Two”.
But in Frank Herbert’s novel, Duncan Idaho returns as a so -called Ghola, a kind of genetically reconstructed clone. That is why Momoa is back in part – and will also be seen in the strip next to Zendaya (28) and Timothée Chalamet (29) on the side of his son Nakoa -Wolf Momoa (16).
The shooting of “Dune: Part Three” is already underway, the blockbuster is expected to come to cinemas in December 2026. Until then, Momoa has to get used to his new face.
