Pillow covers
What are the necessary materials for this work
For this idea you will need:
The step by step to make your covers
1. Prepare the shirt
I plan the shirt you are going to use to remove wrinkles. This will facilitate cuts and assembly.
Tip: Las pictures Or with stripes they can help you cut right, since the lines of the fabric serve as a guide.
2. I measure and cut the fabric
I measured the size of the pillow that you want to cover. Then, cut two squares of fabric (one for the front and one for the back of the case), leaving 1 or 2 centimeters of margin around.
Example: If the pillow measures 45 x 45 cm, cut the squares of approximately 47 x 47 cm.
3. Cortá the shirt strategically
First take away the sleeves and neck.
Then, cut below the pocket and also at the bottom of the shirt.
Tip: If you want your case to have the buttons or the shirt pocket, make sure to leave that part in the front of one of the squares you cut.
4. Armá the case
Turn the fabric (which is left upside down), align the two squares one on top of the other and hold them with pins at the edges.
5. Sew or paste the edges
Sew where you marked with pins, leaving an open side to put the pillow. Then, turn the case, place the pillow and close the opening.
If you use fabric glue, apply it at the edges (less in one) and press until it dries. Then place the pillow and stuck the final opening.
A practical trick: If you use the front of the shirt with buttons, you do not need to leave an opening. Just sew or stick everything around, place the pillow by opening the buttons … and voila! You already have your DIY pillowcases made by you.
