After many criticism of his tour performance, Justin Timberlake has announced that he was ill.
“I was faced with a personal decision. Cancel the tour? Or continue and find a solution?” With these words, Justin Timberlake (44) reflected his “Forget Tomorrow” tour, which ended in Turkey on Wednesday. Because his sometimes weak performance on stage is based on an illness that the singer announced in a long one on Thursday.
The “Cry Me a River” singer has been criticized for its unspectacular appearances in the past few weeks and months. In a current one, Timberlake slurded off, did not present any wild dance movements and rarely held the microphone on the mouth. Before he was “misinterpreted”, he has now decided to “openly talk about his difficulties”.
“Among other things, I fought with some health problems and I was diagnosed with Lyme disease – I don’t say that so that you have pity with me – but to give you an insight with which I have to do behind the scenes,” he explained to his followers.
“Mental and physically weak”
Timberlake pointed out that Lyme Borreliosis, a bacterial infection transmitted by ticks, can “be both mentally and physically infinitely stressful”. The diagnosis initially shocked the Grammy winner, but helped him understand why he was “on stage and had massive nerve pain or was just incredibly tired or sick”.
However, the father and husband of actress Jessica Biel (43) did not want to cancel his world tour: “The joy that gives me the occurrence far predominates the temporary stress that my body felt.” He was glad that he continued to demonstrate his “mental strength” and share “special moments” with his fans, said Timberlake.
