Media: Wrestler Hulk Hogan died of heart attack

A week after the death of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, the cause is now known.

According to the US media, the cause of death of wrestling legend Hulk Hogan was a heart attack. Forensic medicine confirmed an “acute myocardial infarction”, a technical term for a heart attack, as the US media ABC News, CNN and USA today report.

Hogan died in Florida last week at the age of 71. According to the local police, an emergency call for cardiac arrest was received on Thursday. The fire brigade and rescue workers first treated Hogan on site. Then he was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

As the US media cite from the forensic medicine report, Hogan also suffered from cardiac arrhythmia and blood cancer, which was given as a mit. Accordingly, the cause of death was classified as “natural”. The authority said CNN that no autopsy or examination had been carried out and that Hogan’s family doctor had confirmed death.

Hogan, who was called bourgeois Terry Gene Bollea, was perhaps the best known wrestler worldwide. With his heavily bleached hair, his pithy beard, his many muscles, his sun-tanned skin and the bright outfits, he was the face of the US wrestling. Numerous reality shows as well as other appearances in film and television gave Hogan additional fame around the world.
