Justin Timberlake is ill. He is by no means the only star who has become infected.
Massive pain and weakness on stage: Justin Timberlake (44) was “before a personal decision. Cancel off the tour? Or continue and find a solution?” With rare, extremely private words, he has that a Lyme-Borreliosis was found. He fought silently behind the scenes with the disease, which could be physically and mentally “relentlessly exhausting”. Other stars have previously made public that they were diagnosed with Lyme disease.
What is Lyme Borreliosis?
Lyme disease – or Lyme disease and Lyme disease – is an infection caused by bacteria, and stitches of ticks are transferred to humans. As a result, no direct infection from person to person is possible. Different organ systems can be affected by the disease, including skin, nervous system and joints.
“A really difficult thing”
Justin Bieber (31), whose health has been speculated in recent years, announced in 2020 how the disease had influenced him. While many people had said that he looked bad or was on meth, “they did not realize that I recently diagnosed Lyme disease,” he wrote on Instagram. In addition, a severe case of Pfeifferschem glandular fever came, which affected his “skin, brain function, energy and general health”.
In September of the same year, Amy Schumer (44) also wrote about the disease. The comedian and actress almost casually asked whether someone of her followers had infected herself this summer. She herself has “may have been” Borreliosis for years and is currently getting an antibiotic. At that time she felt good, but the fans should give her advice.
Actor Ben Stiller (59) spoke about the disease in 2011. He infected himself on Nantucket in Massachusetts a few years ago. “My knee ignited and they couldn’t find out what it was,” he said. “Then they found out that it was Lyme disease. I am now symptom-free, but Lyme-Borreliosis never leaves the body. It’s a really difficult thing.”
Avril Lavigne (40) reported in 2015 that after her infection she was bedridden for five months. “I had no idea that an insect bite could do something like this,” she said. “I had the feeling that I could no longer breathe, no longer speak and not be able to move. I thought I would die.” But it was optimistic. “I believe that I will emerge healthier and more from this situation than before,” said the singer.
Further stars have also made a Borreliosis disease public in recent years. These include the actor Alec Baldwin (67), the singer Shania Twain (59), the model Bella Hadid (28), her mother Yolanda (61), the actress Riley Keough (36), Marvel star Mark Ruffalo (57) and Kelly Osbourne (40), the daughter of the recently deceased Metal legend Ozzy Osbourne (1948-2025).
